Mary Caine discovered the terrestial Zodiac in the landscape centred around Kingston upon Thames. This month is Sagittarius in the Kingston Zodiac.
Interestingly Sagittarius is the 9th sign counting round from Aries.

As we walk we will be connecting to the landscape with the intention of healing the Sagittarius energy both in ourselves and the land.

As well as being a wonderful healing and connection to the land, it is a personal journey for transformation.
We shall harness connections to the Earth spirit in the landscape to gain enlightenment and revelations/synchronicity.

At the start of each walk you will have the option to receive a smudging using North American white sage which will cleanse your energy. Sometimes we may use crystals, meditation or cards to support us on our way.

At various sites we bless and honour the spirit of place, its guardians and the ancestors who sought sanctuary here over many centuries.

• Bring water & umbrella just in case!

• We will be walking on grass and possible muddy puddle pathways this time, however please dress in suitable attire, good walking shoes, trainers. Not flip flops! You may want to wear wellies at this time of year!

• The walk will go ahead no matter what the weather conditions are, and bring a bottle of water as we are not always near shops or cafes.

Further Info:

We shall gather together under the Sagittarian stars of the Richmond area.

As we have just over 2 weeks to go in the darkest period of the year before the gradual return of the light after the Winter Solstice, we shall count our blessings and be thankful for our life here on planet Earth.

Saggitarius in the Kingston Zodiac is quite a large landscape figure.
The figure classically is a half man half horse with bow and arrow. Visionary Mary Caine who had plotted the features of the Zodiac does not indicate where the bow and arrow may be pointing. Perhaps that part is left for us individually to discover, each in our way.

The figure stretches from the west of Putney south of the Thames to Richmond, south to the outskirts of Kingston itself and across the Royal parklands to as far as Roehampton. The effigy is noticeably upside down in our terrestrial way of looking. He faces towards the West, like the outlying hound on St. Anne’s Hill at Chertsey. So we are reminded that we must learn to look at things in a different though not to say in a complete topsy-turvey way, to gain a fresh sence of reality and perspective.

Saggitarius is the 9th House – which is indicative of fulfillment completeness and some mystery. 3+3+3 and 3×3 is 9 – so are likely to notice triplicities occurring perhaps 3 fold.

Richmond has plenty of Royal associations – from its Royal Palace and Park, and King Henry’s Mound. King George lived for a time at the Richmond Lodge in the middle of Richmond Park, whereas Elizabeth I lived and died in Richmond Palace.

Unusually the palace and town was originally known as Sheen, meaning shine, but the king decided to rename it after the place in Yorkshire, because of the hunting associations, so its no wonder the deer still roam free over the park where the body of the Sagittarian horseman gallops. Could there be any connection with Herne the hunter, Robin Hood of the green – maybe the masculine energy of the area needs to be tamed with a touch of feminine Unicorn energy ?

Sagittarius is a mutable fire sign connected to Mars influences (thus the masculine aspect) focussing on religion, politics, education and publishing.

(Fire in moulded action, rather than burn outs).

This must of helped people like Dr John Dee (astrologer and alchemist to Elizabeth I) and Francis Walsingham who lived under the sign, by the Thameside, to keep their heads above troubled waters.

We are spoilt for choice where to walk and adventure on the day itself, so shall gather at Richmond Station before midday, so that we can make begin deliberations alongside the Thames to the Neptune statue ready for the arrival of Full Moon – known as the ‘Cold Moon’ timed at 12.27pm before we together decide where its most apt to continue on and where starry guidance prepares us to roam and explore.
Sagittarius’s stone is Topaz, linked to the 3rd gate and the 9th sign. We will use this crystal for cleansing and uplifting, and connection to Sagittarius.

During our walk the intention is to become enriched and energised by the experience and in that process give back healing to the land and its occupants both natural and human.

We have walked the Kingston Zodiac for 2 years and continue to find new connections as we move through to new levels of personal and planetary consciousness. There will be plenty of time to meet like minded people and connect with nature.

We look forward to you joining us on this Zodiac Adventure and healing walk, connecting with new friends and old acquaintances.

Love & Gratitude

Jo & Trui xx

The next walk will be into Capricorn in Syon Park/Ealing: Sunday 4th January.
